A life long foodie and daughter to a famous chef and restaurateur, Kimberlie was once an avid meat lover. After learning of the environmental costs of her eating habits at college, Kimberlie searched for an easy and effective way to help the planet, ultimately deciding to ditch meat. Trying to branch out and satisfy her inner carnivore, Kimberlie was utterly disappointed with what she found in alternative meat aisles, most of it bland, boring, and pulverized into a protein isolate sapping it of beneficial vitamins and minerals. Kimberlie knew that there had to be a better option out there, one that was uncompromising in both taste and texture.
Using her skills as a microbiologist and her foodie brain, Kimberlie came up with the outstanding meat substitutes that have propelled Prime Roots to success. Now Prime Roots is a game changer in the plant-based market, making everything from their rich and comforting mac n’ cheese range to their unbelievable lobster ravioli. While their products seem decadent and fancy, the philosophy of Kimberlie and Prime Roots is elegantly simple, sustainable, transparent, educational, and empathetic. Through her work Kimberlie looks to build a tight knit community that will continue to educate and support others as they change the world.
