Kimberly Elise is an award-winning actor with a three-decade-long career spanning both screen and stage. Getting her start in the Minneapolis stage theater scene, Kimberly eventually made the jump to LA to chase her dreams. There she found success debuting in the action-packed thriller Set it Off and has since gone on to appear in Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Beloved, and The Manchurian Candidate. Kimberly can also be seen as a series regular in producing legend Jerry Bruckheimer's legal drama Close to Home a nd most recently starred alongside Brad Pitt in the psychological science fiction drama Ad Astra. She is the recipient of four NAACP image awards, Movie Guide Awards, Chicago Critics Awards, and has received a number of BET Award for Best Actress nominations.
When she isn't acting up a storm, Kimberly is blogging. Built with the help of her daughter and a few family friends, Kimberly launched Kimberly Elise Natural Living at a time when she was feeling the full brunt of the toxicity of the internet. What was once a means of personal escape is now a hotspot for vegans providing info on everything from delicious plant-based recipes to skincare and hair care tips.
