Persia White

Actor, singer and vegan Persia White is a defender of humans and animals everywhere. After forging a name for herself in Hollywood in the 90s and 00s, Persia landed her biggest role as the lead on CW’s TV comedy series Girlfriends. Founding her own production company in 2011, Persia now dedicates her time to helping break stereotypes and expanding the perceptions of Black Women with Midnight Owl Productions. 

Throughout her music and acting career Persia has had the privilege of working alongside some of the best and brightest minds in their respective fields. She has collaborated with members of Pink Floyd, Outcast, and with Saul Williams. As an actor Persia has made appearances on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, NYPD Blue, Vampire Diaries and was reunited with her Girlfriends cast members in Black-ish. She co-starred with a young Ryan Gosling on Breaker High, and has worked alongside Ron Perlman and Kirstie Alley on direct-to-TV films Operation Sandman and Suddenly.   

Persia also served as a co-producer on Earthlings, a Joaquin Phoenix narrated documentary detailing the use of animals as pets, food, clothing, entertainment and for scientific research. She also serves as the voice behind the Earthlings follow-up Unity. Persia continues to diversify her film-making portfolio directing the music video Strange Fruit as well as the short film Emotional Landscapes and has produced two others, Revelation and Carousel.      Outside her film and music career, Persia campaigns tirelessly for animal rights and serves on the board of The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
