Proenza Schouler and MERIT, founded by Katherine Power, have released a fully vegan makeup bag, which doubles as a stylish clutch. The Signature Bag was a natural complement to Merit's clean skincare formulas, and is designed to elevate the look of a makeup bag, while maintaining functionality.
Hourglass Cosmetics, founded by Carissa Janes, is expanding the shade range of its best-selling product, the Phantom Volumising Glossy Balm, in South Korean stores. The product went viral on TikTok after creators discovered how effective and functional the product is, and the expansion is part of Hourglass Cosmetics’ strategy to ride the growing vegan wave in the beauty industry.
The global mycelium market was valued at over $2.8 billion in 2022, and is expected to surpass $4.7 billion USD by 2028. This is no surprise, given the versatility and sustainability offered by mycelium products. Food companies working with mycelium include Bosque Foods, co-founded by Isabella Iglesias-Musachio; Aqua Cultured Foods, founded by Anne Palermo and Brittany Chibe; and Chinova Bioworks, founded by Natasha Dhayagude.
